Week 16

Day 100

Exercise: Run

Time: 1 hour 5 minutes

Distance: 7 miles

It may be too soon to say the strength training is already paying off, but I took 5 minutes off my usual time for this distance. Pretty stoked about that. Seeing improvement is always encouraging, as is surviving 100 days of Ironman training.

Day 101

Exercise: Bike/Run

Time: 1 hour 30 minutes/1 hour

Distance: 22 miles/6 miles

You know how you can pull down the notifications screen on an iPhone and it will sometimes tell you how long it would take you to drive home? Yeah, so I was sitting in the Wendy's drive-thru lane today (eating super well obviously) and I noticed my phone told me it would only take me 6 minutes to drive home from where I was.

I knew I was at least 20 minutes from home, so I opened the maps to see where my iPhone thought my house was. Turns out, I was 6 minutes aways from the YMCA...Yup. My phone thinks I live at the gym. I'm not really sure what that says about me, but there it is.

Day 102

Exercise: Strength Day

Still not jacked, but I'm getting there. Watch out Ben Affleck.

Day 103

Exercise: Bike/Run

Time: 1 hour 30 minutes/1 hour

Distance: 22 miles/6 miles

The guy at the Y who checks me in called me by my first name today before I even handed him my ID. Maybe I do live there...

Day 104

OFF

Day 105

Exercise: Run

Time: 10 miles

Distance: 1 hour 40 minutes

I finished running today and wasn't dead tired, so that's new. I almost felt good afterwards. Sure, I had to stand with my hand on my knees for a few minutes before I could breath, and I had to sit down in the shower because my legs were so tired, but I used to lose all function in my legs for the rest of the day. This evening, I managed to walk all the way from the living room to the kitchen to get a bowl of cereal before sitting back down for the rest of the night. HUGE improvement.

Day 106

OFF...

I was supposed to bike today, and it's absolutely gorgeous outside, but I'm having technical difficulties with the bike. Unfortunately, I couldn't work up the courage to go to the bike store today, so we're going to have to tackle that problem next week.
